Hi,
I checked out this plant thoroughly, I thought, prior to buying it, got it home, left it in the bag with the water from the store, didn't get to it right away, but I don't think it was more than an hour waiting for me, and when I went to get it out, it was covered with orange dots. The dots were not visible at the store, that is certain, but they are now. It's just a Canna, nothing rare and overly special, but I'd still like to know what to do about it.
Any advice? Other than take it back? I really like the folks there and I'm not going to whine over a dinky little plant that was healthy looking when I bought it. I'm just amazed at how quickly it "bloomed."
Help appreciated.
Thanks!

Sounds like canna rust. Remove the affected leaves and discard (not in the compost pile). Keep the new plant away from your others until it no longer shows symptoms. Remove any new rust-infected growth. A fungicide may be necessary.
