How's it going?
I have been keeping tropical fish for years. Many more than I would like to count. I am admin on a forum, and recently started my own forum. In the process of working on these forums, I was doing research on line for profiles of many different fish. One night I was at the computer reading an article about Native American Fish. That's when it hit me! We pay alot of money for "pretty" fish to keep in our aquariums. All these fish are, if not directly, but bred from, imported from overseas. So I got to looking at natives for the home aquarium. MAN, there are some gorgeous fish from right here at home, that no one knows about, and some don't care about. So I am here to learn all I can absorb about these great fish we have here at home.

I am an aquaholic! I have 4 tanks running now. I have a 10, two 29's, and a 55. I am also in the process of putting together a 120. As soon as it's up and running I hope to have some sort of sunfish call it home. I have some Gambusia Holbrooki in one of the 29's. I went on an "expedition" and caught these myself. Let me just say that I am sure they are Holbrooki, they very well could be Affinis.

I am looking forward to getting to know everyone here, and soaking up all you have to offer about our natives. Just remember, I was always taught that the only stupid question is one that isn't asked. So if I ask, don't laugh.

Time to go look around and see what I can get into!

Sea Ya!

Welcome, PoBoy! You've come to the right place!

Please update your profile under My Controls to let us know where you live; this helps with ID questions, trip organizing, and so on.

You're in Maryland - well, that ALMOST disqualifies you from membership in the Catfish Alliance

If you want to have some real fun you should join us in the Tuxachanie Trek Redux (details TBA-bring a survival kit).

Welcome. Some neat areas down your way. I just surveyed a couple sites around Waldorf last month actually.

Oh yea? I have been looking around for a spot to collect a Pumpkinseed or two. Have you ever been to Gilbert Run Park? I hear the lake there is full of them.
