This is my plug for participating in as many aspects of NANFA as you can.
Through the 2002 NANFA National Convention in Michigan, I met Todd Crail. Recently I was on a collecting trip with Todd in Kentucky. I saw Tood taking pictures in his hand of darters with their dorsal fins up. I have been muttering to myself for years that I need a phototank to get a look at darters in the field. (Snorkelling works okay.) Todd didn't have this particular problem.
Mike Wolfe asked about the secret in this post:
