I just got my grass pickerel with a free extra also. They were packed great and arrived in excellent shape. They arrived in 2 days are both eating well and growing fast! I would definitely buy from Zimmerman's again and expect to order a sunny soon.

what are you feeding yours? ive been finding small earthworms around my yard, they GOBBLE them up, ive also been giving them mosquito larva, they seem to enjoy the wiggling mosquito stuff best.

i ordered 3 of them and got 4 of them, im super happy with my shipment :)

I've been going around the shore of the lake and getting tiny mosquitofish. This time of year there are literally thousands of small gambusia swimming around in like 6" deep water. I havent tried worms yet but i have been thinking about it.

It would have been an extra grass pickerel.

Awesome looking photo. Looks like the tank would be a nice set up. I like using driftwood, Natural stone etc ete expecially if it has holes big enough for smaller fish to retreat in. I have a Tadpole Madtom that lives in a piece of driftwood that is hollow on the inside "plastic drift wood". I like the plastic driftwood best because it does not start falling appart and also for the reason I mentioned above " hollow on the inside.

That pickerel looks like the chain pattern goes right through the tail. I do not remember mine having that but when I recieved mine they were close to adulthood but still grew some. This pattern when they are young must act as a camaflauge. I did not notice when this thread was started so if I am way behind I hope all has been well with the pickerel and that you enjoy him/her very much. They are truely awesome "miniture muskies" is how I view them. Stay small but they still have the look of a viscious predator. The largest muskie I ever caught was about three foot six inches. Caught it in Ontario Canada. Small one in comparison to how big they grow to.

Thanks for the photo,
Daniel
