i want some more darters, i just couldnt keep the last ones cause they were bullies. so im thinkin if a pickerel just stays mid water all day, they wouldnt have much interaction except feeding time when there is more appetizing food than the darters.
thanks in advance

Darters=pickerel food. Sooner or later, I mean sooner they will be food. Of course you could put a tank divider horizontally keeping darters on the bottom with a powerhead for good current and the pickerel on top with slack water.Im looking into tankmates for a grass pickerel (or two, depending on availabilty), would some rainbow darters be ok? or would they just be food?

I had a jonny darter in there for about a month the pickerel did not touch him he was leter transfered too my pond!
We have found that Madtoms(except Stonecats) will work well as tankmates of Pickerel. We tried darters and they lasted about a day. We tried putting the Pickerel in with the Stonecats and the Stonecats tried to eat the Pickerel.
