Downtown Aquarium / Denver are looking for an aquarist to join the team at a one million gallon facility located in downtown Denver, Colorado. Work involves husbandry and maintenance of aquatic specimens. Work is performed under the general supervision of curator and assistant curators of fish. Aquarists participate in proper care of the animal collection, including environmental requirements, nutrition, water quality, the maintenance and appearance of all exhibits, life support equipment, disease recognition and therapy. Applicant must be highly motivated and be willing to work flexible hours, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays. Must be able to work both in a team environment and independently. A flexible, positive, guest-oriented attitude is vital. Compensation is commensurate with experience.
This position is a full time permanent position with possibility for advancement.
Minimum qualifications:
Bachelor of Science degree in Biology or related field.
S.C.U.B.A. certification.
Possess a valid driver’s license.
Must be able to lift and carry 50 pounds.
Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening.
