I collected a few stems of an unknown plant the other day -- not something I normally do. This one was growing alongside Ludwigia palustris and Lindernia dubia, two plants I've had success with, and I suffered a moment of weakness.
Leaves are lance-elliptical and alternate. Leaf margins are smooth. Venation is pinnate. Stems are glabrous and sharply angular in cross section. Unfortunately, there are no flowers. The locality is southern Orange County, NC. It reminds me of Penthorum sedoides (but the leaf margins are wrong) and Ludwigia glandulosa (but there are no seedboxes). I'm stumped.
Any thoughts?
