If granddaughter can milk that much out of you just with a smile, I'm sure she'll cost her Daddy every penny he has, no worries there.
You should have said, "Oh, I'm mailing it to my friend Mander in Oregon, she has a really big pond in her back yard where he'll be very happy the rest of his life."
Too late!

You know you love that frog. Of course you do, you just spent $75 bucks to prove it!
I don't know if he loves the frog, but he sure loves the granddaughter!

Oh.. Jimjim, I got the prefect book for your granddaughter, "The calls of frogs and toads" by Lang Elliott. Includes a CD of 42 of America's 95 frog species. Awesome! You'll be collecting frogs the rest of your life!
No? Okay, well then, how about, "A plague of frogs : the horrifying true story" by William Souder.
Both available at my local public library.

What's not to love about a frog that sounds like an untuned banjo?
I had a pair in my pond - that is an appropriate description of the sound they make. Not a very original name though.

And there's always one of my favorite movies: "Frogs!" starring Sam Elliott, in one of his very early roles.

My youngest daughter insisted on bringing back a fat little tadpole from a collection trip. Fortunately, we had an unused 5 gal. But I'm not complaining, she's 9 years old and already becoming an effective fish catcher. She's better at getting baby bluegill than I am. And on that trip, she netted a 2.5" smallmouth bass that I couldn't get near.

My favorite part is the largemouth that makes the dolphin noises.
