I've been reading about Indian Almond leaves and how it lowers pH and removes impurities, it's used a lot in the Betta industry apparently. Sounds similar to oak leaves. I was wondering if anyone here has experience with using the either Indian Almond or Oak leaves in their native tanks.
Thanks!

I know Native Planter has, so hopefully she'll pipe up. I have a lot of oak, maple, and dogwood leaves in my big tank (a garbage-bag-full); I don't believe they had much effect on the pH, but my tapwater is hard enough to scratch glass and I put a few chunks of limestone in besides...I could probably pour a gallon of vinegar in that tank and not see the pH change.
But there is absolutely no reason to buy Indian almond leaves when you have perfectly good oak leaves in your backyard. They do the same thing.
