How do the rest of you get an Ed Cumings net? I went to the website today and it told me to call the factory to place an order. When I called they told me that they dont sell their nets to the public and that they were no retailers near me. Anyone else have a similar problem??? Thanks

Anyone know of another seller since they "don't sell to the public"?

I just called and they said they would ship me some. I do need to order more but not at the moment.

You call 810-736-0130 ? A very nice lady answered the phone.

I am also looking into ordering two Cuming's Dipnets in the near future, I will have to keep this number in mind, I hope it works for me.

We have never had an issue either. We have always called and ordered and had them shipped with no questions. Maybe you have to do more than one??

Like Dustin said, you may have to order more than one. My first ever order was for two and they were willing to ship two more. I'd advise doing so if you can afford it as shipping doesn't increase much and you'll have a backup "just in case".

Just an update. I called back the following day and once again a nice woman answered but said they do not sell them to the public. So I spent the next several days trying to find one and I did. Their website is Boatcycle.com. I ordered it from them on Friday and I just received a UPS tracking number saying it will be here on Tuesday. The price was only $1 more. I will keep you updated.

Interesting... and you got the 270-12? It may be that we have ordered in the past and we order more than 1. They even donated nets to the NANFA convention last year, so I don't know why they wouldn't sell to the public. I may give them a call tomorrow and see what is going on as I was the one that got those donations.

Final update. I recieved my net this morning as promised. So overall I am very pleased with boatcycle. I have to say I am impressed seeing as how I ordered it on Friday.

I noticed on boatcycle.com they offer the dip nets "tarred". Any idea what this means?

It means they are coated with this black stuff. I never saw the need for it. I guess maybe if you want feathers to stick to your net...
