Dear NANFAns,

We are having the September Southeastern Wisconsin Native Fish Club (NANFA affiliate) meeting on Saturday, the 20th at 6:00pm in Port Washington, WI. The meeting will be held at my apartment. My address and phone are:

1414 W. Sunset Rd, #102.
Port Washington, WI 53074
Phone:(262) 268-7489

I will give a talk on Negative Impacts of Invasive Fish Species on the Native Ecosystem. We will be having refreshments and some native fish and tropical fish and plants to raffle-off! It should be a great time for all! We have had people coming from various areas of southeastern Wisconsin for the meetings, so if you would like to carpool, please email me with your phone # and address, and I'll see if we can find someone for you to carpool with. Also, if you could provide a carpool ride(s), please email me and let me know so that we can let others know. We look forward to seeing you!

All,

The meeting went well. The titile of my talk changed slightly since I first posted in this thread. The title of my talk ended-up being, "Non-Native Fishes in Wisconsin and Their Ecosystem Impacts". I have posted the PDF of my talk at http://forum.nanfa.o...?showtopic=6037.

We also heard part of a radio interview with Dr. John Lyons of the Wisconsin DNR in which he talked about the "WiscFish" on-line pictorial database of fishes of Wisconsin. That website is
http://www.wiscfish.org/fishid.

Additionally, we had a native fish auction with juvenile High-Color Rainbow Darters (Etheostoma caeruleum), Blackstripe Topminnows (Fundulus notatus), some Riccia fluitans, and baby Water Lettuce (Pistia stratiotes). I think it's safe to say a good time was had by all! Our next meeting is tentatively scheduled for October 25 and will be in Pewaukee, WI. Further details with be posted as they become available. We hope to see you there!
