I was on a kayak trip on the upper Suwannee 5 years ago.
The water was so acidic that I doubt many germs live in the water. I tested the water on my tongue; noticeable tingling sensation.
Switching the fish to less acidic water can cause problems. The fish may not have their immune systems geared-up for the biota of your tanks.
