realizing that I know nothing about you, your background/experience keeping natives or your intentions....brace yourself, there is sure to be a lot of input. your tank is a 'lil bit overstocked for the long term. 2 channel cats will be pushing it when they grow up, add to that 2 largmouth bass....a chain pickerel....2 yellow perch....etc. Lots of bioload and territorial friction is in your future. Otherwise, I really like your aqua scape.

word to the wise...don't say that you are planning to release any of these fish when they get too big. that is against the NANFA code of ethics...

"Fishes or other aquatic organisms must not be relocated or introduced into any outdoor bodies of water, even to places where they were originally collected (except catch and immediate release), including specimens raised in private aquaria, without permission from the appropriate governing agency. Members must realize that there are complicated and often unknown ecological processes at work in aquatic systems which may make fish introductions detrimental to the system. Potential problems from such introductions include displacement of native species, spread of disease, and the loss of genetic diversity via hybridization."

Even another 125 doesn't help very much especially with largemouth bass and channel catfish. Channel catfish will get way big when full grown and are pushy if kept in 125gal. Black bass will get aggressive toward the other bass if kept in same tank.

Nice fish though theres a real powder keg of aggression there waiting to happen.

Im not trying to be mean but why your friends should be suffering begin stuck with channel catfish or bass? I often heard that "ill give that fish to my friend" and that is common.

Looks like it. The Rock Bass, Yellow Perch, and Crayfish (depending on species) are pretty good community species though. I've had a lot of success with those species. But, as Butch said, the others just simply won't do well. You'll need to have a definite home for these fish when they outgrow your tank (not back into the wild). Try contacting local aquariums or even retail stores like Cabela's or Bass Pro Shops (I know it's cheesy to plug Bass Pro, but we do take donations sometimes).

I would agree that is not a pickerel of either species, it is a small northern pike.
