1500 + gallons of water in my basement, and garage.

You might as well go all out and flood your basement.

Just 1 10 gallon Residence Hall Reef at the moment :(

I had to get rid of the others before coming to college.. talk about heartbreaking :S
Not quite a native tank, but hey--you do what you can

I feel your pain. When I was in college, pets weren't allowed. I had a 20-high tank that I covered with a bottomless cardboard box marked "fragile" every time we went on break and the dorms were closed. I set the light timer to go on at night in case there were workmen about during the day (they did maintenance things during school break)

It's sad, really. Since I finished grad school last Dec., I've had to pare down in tankland. Right now it's just 2 55-gallons, one with a turtle (Myrtle), and one (planted) with a sunfish and brown trout. I've also got a 2ish gallon planted tank, and if they count, a couple gallon jars with plants. And a tiny tank of tiny tree frog babies.

I've been told that after we move (which should be in the next 3 months, to Newport News, VA!), I can have as many tanks as I can fit in a designated "tank area", NOT to be the living room! One display tank is permitted in the living room, so I'm aiming for a 100 gallon stream tank  .

Once this fabled move occurs, I'm going to hit up all you guys I've sent plants to over the years. I desperately need darters again. (Mr. Crail, are you out there?)

Hey nativeplanter, you won't be very far from drewish and me when you move. Maybe we can help you get back on your aquatic feet!

That would be absolutely lovely!!! And it will be the beginning of spring, too!

Not sure exactly when the move will be. Probably any time between mid Jan and the end of March. I think they are leaning towards earlier, but we have to find a place to live first! Know anyone near Newport News that would rent to someone with 2 big dogs (great pyrenees), 2 cats, pet chickens, and a thing for keeping a lot of water in the house?? But were're not as bad as we sound... I'm the property manager at the place I live in now...
