I'm planning on visiting NJ next weekend as I'm dropping my son and his buddies off in Manhatten for the weekend. So I'll have Sat and Sun to play go fish. Mostly concentrate on brackish since my favorite sunfishes are illegal now but who knows maybe I can get a collector permit (short notice though). Either way since I'll have 2 days I plan on romping around and see if I can locate a couple of lost sites from my old days and maybe a few new ones. Any locals like to join in pm me and we can make arrangements.

I might make a try at a collectors permit especially for a few more Mud Sunfish in the 3-5 inch range as the three I have now sure look and act alike so I'm not too confident in having mixed sexes. Realistically the sunnies may be a no go, but there's lots of other interesting fishes in NJ.

One spot I can't relocate is a little swampy pond with cypress like knees Bruce Gebhardt took me to many years ago. It was a very dark, dreary, spooky looking place that had Bluespots and huge Mud sunfish. It was a park I believe and the area around it was all wooded. Not in the Barrens if I recall correctly. Always wanted to go back there and explore some more.

Also know a few decent brackish areas. Feel free to suggest some others.
