Laura, what is "hydric" soil?
The official NRCS definition: " a soil that formed under conditions of saturation, flooding or ponding long enough during the growing season to develop anaerobic conditions in the upper part"
Basically, it is soils that are characteristically from wet areas. They have special characteristics caused by being anaerobic, which separate them from regular soils.
