hate snails?

nope, I love em, and now breed for color, my greates accomplishment is probly my orange pond snail, that lived a full life, and to a full size :)

But I have made, reds, blacks, purples, black fronted reds, yellows, whites, black/whites..I'm very proud of my pond snails :)

I also have 5 other native species that I have been working on lately...

Then ya got the wrong snails! :D

Some snails will eat plants by the bucketloads, but some are much more civilized. I have found that the specimen snails sold at pet stores are horrible plant eaters, munching huge holes in the leaves. Pond snails don't seem to do too much damage, but do eat plants. Although not native, my favorites are Malaysian trumpet snails :-$ . They eat algae and detritus, but leave the plants completely alone. They also burrow during the day, bringing the organic material into the gravel and pooping it out there.

and, what are these, I recently got these a few months ago, I noticed that they are completely aquatic unlike pond snails, and I havent noticed much breeding, if any.. I'm stumped on these....

I really hate spiders far more than I hate snails. But my fish like them.

How do you post multiple pictures in the same message like that, with text interspersed between the pictures? I only seem to be able to get the text before the pictures.

Wow, I didn't know there were different colors of snails and you could actually cross-breed them? Hmm, I'm gonna have to do some research on snails. I find that very interesting. That's a huge spider! Very nice photography.

Its really easy to post multiple pictures :)

I use http://photobucket.com *PB* to host my pictures online..
Underneath each picture on PB there are 3 options, go to one of my albums to see what I mean. http://s9.photobucke.....Double Tails/ Then you copy and paste the IMG link to a subject here, or on any place that supports it, then you can write where you want , and post as many pictures as you want :)

Thanks for the compliments... I will make up a seperate post with some other colors of my snails :)

But you can't seem to post the pictures as attachments and control the order in which they appear, or put text between them. Can you?

No, you can't. The only way is to host them elsewhere and include them in your post as Katie did.

And I assume you have to keep them hosted elsewhere, or your link will go dead. They don't get uploaded to the forum server. Correct?

Are there any good websites dedicated to our native freshwater snails? I'm fairly interested in them but haven't found any good information resources.

That is a huge crab (spider) in that picture.

I like snails too, but it seemed like a lot of people hate them for plant consumption and the mess they leave behind.

I don't hate snails personally, but I don't keep any because my girlfriend thinks they're "gross". I'd like to pick up some MTS at sometime though.

That is what I would like to know also. People do it in e-mails to me all the time. I am kinda smart "kinda" but I have yet to figure this one out.

And on the snails I love them. But not when they infest a tank you otherwise do not want them in. I am starting to keep dwarf crayfish if that is what that thing is that I posted, and I will probably keep snails in the same tank. I wish to breed the crayfish but first I want to make sure it is indeed a dwarf. And to the person that posted all the pics and loves snails. Where do you gettum and do you trade with people from outside you area??
