Hi everyone,
I'm an undergraduate student at Bowling Green State University in Northwestern Ohio. I am a biology major here and I emphasize my studies on aquatic biology, especially our native fishes. I try to do quite a bit of sampling and collecting. I do most of my sampling here in Ohio, but have had the pleasure to sample in Illinois (a lot this summer), Wisconsin, Indiana (a few times), and even in Michigan (the first time was this morning).
I have great interest in conserving our native fishes and hope to make a career out of it sooner than later. I also have three Native Fishes tanks that I maintain right now;

A 29 Gallon Planted Aquarium with;
1- Spotted Sucker
1- Creek Chubsucker
6- Iowa Darters
1- Black Banded Sunfish
2- Banded Pygmy Sunfish
2- Golden Shiner
2- Northern Starhead Topminnow
(and 5 guppies that I keep in there to keep mating and providing food for the Iowa Darters (I know I could have used mosquitofish, but they're too aggressive for this tank)).

A 45 Gallon Research Tank
4- Blackside Darter
4- Iowa Darter
4- Variegate Darter

A 125 Gallon Stream Community Tank
-Too many to list-
but my favorites are the Brindled Madtom, Southern Redbelly Dace, Redside Dace, Western Banded Killifish, Orangethroat Darter, and Suckermouth Minnows... ( I think I have at least 70 fish in this aquarium ).

So, I'm open to questions, comments, always down for a seining trip, whatever.

Good to find people that are interested in Native Fishes also.

My 110 at home has a nice big shadow bass, plus about 20 assorted minnows. No, wait - 19 minnows. Oops, 18. Nope, now it's 17...

Anyway, welcome!
