Ths last picture is redlip shiners from NC.Charley pulls through again, he captured those colors that have no words to describe them accurately.

jim you are doing everything right. i only see those kind of colors in a stream nest.
which area did these rainbows come from?
what are you feeding?
what is your water temp?
what is your light situation?
i have noted that even in the same nest the rainbows will have different levels of colors and patterns on them. they do not all look the same. there is variation.

I'm pretty sure they came from Collinsville. They are in the cool half of my fish house so they are at 66 year round and they just get room light. They get mostly HBH soft and moist with krill pellets and soft and moist with krill pellets from Kensfish.com. I think it's mostly about the temperature as they have been in good color for six months.
