This is a fairly new group which I have joined. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NAAGC/

The club was founded by some planted tank enthusiasts as a shop talk/swap meet sort of thing. I hope to learn from the more experienced aquarists, and to lead some field trips and otherwise encourage interest in native plants and other aquatics.

I know there aren't many other NANFAns in the Nashville area, but if any of you from a little further afield think you might be interested in our field trips, please join the Yahoo group. I hope to take the group to some sites in the lower Cumberland drainage in March, and the Lower Tennessee some time later in the spring; if there is enough interest we may make excursions out to West Tennessee and other exotic locales.

I've been toying with a spring collection trip back out to TN. I traveled through in October, but wasn't able to get my hands dirty and I've been looking for an excuse to go back.

I'm not much on yahoo groups, but keep me posted with updates on your field trips. I'd be more than happy to come on a guided tour or spend a weekend waist deep in darter country.

I'll keep you updated! March-May is the best time for darters in their full glory; most of the cyprinids will be fired up in April-May. There'll be different plants blloming throughout the spring and summer.
