Hello All

I have a10g tank that I have been cycling for about 4 weeks now. This Spring I hope to collect
some fish from a local(NW ohio) river. I was wondering if there is any advantage or disadvantage to
adding tannins(via the filter perhaps) to the tank. I thought if nothing else it would give the water a nice tint. I am concerned that the tannins may hurt my helpful bacteria.

Thanks

I've never heard of tannins hurting anything. If you like the color, you can add a piece of natural driftwood (not one from the store), or put some dead, dried leaves in the filter or tank.
