Can anyone suggest where I might find limestone, preferably crushed (but not required), around North Charleston/Goose Creek? I want to add pieces to my filter to provide calcium and pH buffering, so I'm not just looking for decorative rock. Anybody know a place?

Go out and buy some aragonite from your local fish store.

Any place that carries building materials should have it. You can probably get the amount you need just for asking.

A long time ago, I saw a talk on different natural buffers where a guy tested all different types. As I recall, crushed oyster shells were the best at buffering for any length of time. You might want to look into that.

Interesting. I'll try that.
