yeah seriously though, find a pond or something ( roadside ditch). what I find that works best are smaller snails. ( ramshorn?) Big snails are probably more likely to damage plants. Be aware that just like anything else snails carry parasites. I would prefer to find out whats causing the algae first ( unless your fish takes massive dumps, then theres nothing you can do bout it). Ones the snails get established you won't easily get rid of them( other than a thorough cleaning and drying). If all the algae gone they will quickly start snaking on plants. Although some types also eat leftover fish food.
