In the course of my contacting Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (WDNR) employees to find speakers for our native fish club meetings, I have received an offer from the WDNR to do a native aquatic plants workshop. Right now I'm trying to find out if anyone is interested in this. If we're able to set it up, it would be a one-hour workshop between the hours of 8:00 AM and 3 PM, Monday - Friday. The workshop would be given at the Waukesha, WI DNR office. The address of the office is:

Update:

The Wisconsin Native Aquatic Plants workshop has been scheduled for Friday, February 27th at 1:45pm. This workshop is free and anyone is welcome to attend. Update #2:

The workshop was great! We spent about an hour getting our hands wet looking at specimens of native Wisconsin aquatic plants. Our instructor showed us how to ID them. It was a lot of fun! Someone was able to video tape the workshop and she says that she is going to send me the DVD. When I get that, I will announce that I will be making copies available.
