A couple of my males really colored up last week and have been displaying to each other, I can't get a really good picture but I caught this one during a moment when it finally stopped moving.

Did you aquire those locally (LFS?), wild, or vendor? Everything I've purchased through the LFS in ghost shrimp tanks promptly die after a few months.

Great aquarium, fish, plants, and pictures! What plant species are visible in the picture? Are they native? Sorry I am bad with plant ID's.

Thanks Guys -

Matt, I bought these from Dustin, I assume they are from the introduced Carolina population, I've only had them since December but so far so good, I haven't lost any of them.

Thanks Blake and Brian! In the picture I see Fissiden Fontanus (moss), Hemianthus Micranthemoides (baby tears, first stem plan behind the fish), Ludwigia palustris (stem plant to the left of the photo) (all native). There's also some rotala species in the back and the long leafed plant in the front is crypt lucens (exotics). I haven't taken a FTS in a while but below is one from a couple of months ago. Also a shot of some swamp darters and killies.

I second that notion.... The few I've had from LFS lived fine for a while, then just died after a couple months.

Keep an eye out on the males. The area where we take these have males with differently colored dorsal and anal fins. The have red, yellow, or powder blue fins. Nice looking fish.

My wild-caught ones (from SC) have been doing well for 7 months. I've had a couple losses, but only to aggressive tankmates. None have ever just died.

Thanks guys.

Dustin, I'm pretty sure I've got 4 males, only two have really colored up (powder blue), maybe the other two will have yellow fins.

My fiance took some pictures of Bluefin Killifish the other evening. She saw two males displaying to each other, she couldn't get a decent shot of the two but managed this one. You can see the yellow in the dorsal of this one.
