We seem to be getting a good number of members who either live in or near Hampton Roads, Virginia (I'll let you decide what "near" means to you).

I'd like to start a list of people so that collection trips can be planned. I'd like to do one this spring, but I think we should maintain a list for the possibility of later trips.

If interested, PM me with your contact information.

You also have an excellent ichthyologist just up the road a bit -- Eric Hilton, who took a position at VIMS in 2007. If you haven't already been in touch regarding field trips, you should consider it...

Hi Pat, so you've moved a bit further north? Why? Its colder! LOL

Dunno if I told you but I lost the pickerels late last year in a tank crash. They were over 18 months old since I got them from you and everyone loved them. The two I gave to Dave Smith over in York are still going strong.

I am going to Nags Head on vacation in June again. If the opportunity comes up, I'll drop you a line closer to then.

Thanks!

Dean

I'm alway's up for collecting, especially if theres a chance of bowfin or gar involved! I'm on the eastern shore, some good areas up this way, especially if anybody keeps salt.

Whats sad is I am just now finding this.
nativeplanter and nativecollector two different people, albeit both good folks right np?

But on to the topic of taking a field trip, I wish I could be more involved in doing so. I have found more and more places just south of the border into NC. Maybe one day I can put together a trip for everyone that is interested and will be able to cover two states, the southern hampton roads area and the north eastern north carolina area.

Pat (NC)
