I don't like sand, so I started using tiny rocks for a tank. I use a net with 6mm size holes to filter out the bigger rocks and an aquarium net to get rid of sand, dirt, and smaller rocks. Then I wash the gravel before I leave. I like the results so far, the gravel stays on the bottom, doesn't float around as with sand.
Any thoughts?
