American brook and Mountain brook in the smaller tributaries, Ohio and Chestnut in the larger streams.
American brook only known from one site. Mountain brook common, Ohio recently expanding its range into NC and no records of chestnut from the state.

Pass that along to NatureServe in regards to their Upper French Broad fish list. I didn't think ABL were that way, it sounded odd. Then again the corrections to some things I suggseted in 2005 and 2006 are still unchanged. I didn't think Chestnut were much above Douglas if at all either, but wasn't positive.

Below the lake just after getting off Rt 191. I remember it being good for darters also. A life history study of the species was done there years ago. You might be able to find them spawning later this month or May. I need to find the paper to better inform you.
I live near Cane Creek.
Never found a lamprey in it but I have never really looked as it is a trout stream
In Bent Creek above or below Lake Powhatan or in the lake?

So 9 of them were found each year, pretty interesting
A lot of that area at the bridge is either rocky shallow riffles or silt filled pools
