Well, i looked at the pics a few times, sat here awhile thinking of how to respond and all i can come up with is Great looking fish, nice set up, but i really think that whole rig would look better in Indiana, including the camera you took those nice shots with. If you agree ill pm my address

I think there will be lots of various opinions on this, but for my money, the Pumpkinseed, has to be one of the most attractive sunfish out there, i think you have chosen well and those guys will give you many hours of viewing enjoyment. Please keep posting pics as they mature.

Im doing a little experiment right now with Juvi Punkinseeds, and their growth rates when kept in the same tank together, If you have time let me know how yours grow under your circumstances Please. :)

i definitley will be keeping track.

it was a big suprise when i put these 3 fish in, just how big they made my first pumpkinseed look! here i was wishing my pumpkinseed would "Get big" already, and then i put in these new fish and it was just "wow, my pumpkinseed IS big"

the second pumpkinseed is already used to tank life. its very agressive and is already eating whole worms, and attacking the tongs i use for feeding, even if there is no food in them. i even saw it eat a few flakes, something that took my first pumpkinseed months to do.

the two smaller ones are very skittish and difficult to feed. since they're usually near the bottom i use my tongs to feed them individually, and they tend to swim away from the tongs. i did manage to feed one of them a small worm though. maybe they'll catch on fast too.

It amazes me that you get them to eat flakes at all, nothing i have will eat flakes, but then again i thought they would never take to pellets, and it doesnt help that i always tended to cave in and give them what they preferred, (blood worms, etc.) Im glad to see you so excited about you fish, and feeding with tongs, to make sure those little guys get fed. you should be proud of yourself. Again let me say beautiful set up and thank you for sharing your experiences with us.

yeah tongs are a must because i have very aggressive fish (3" bluegill and pumpkinseed) that hang out at the top and will eat any live food the second it hits the water. at the time i got the tongs i also had 2 blacknose dace which were about 3" long, and they were even more aggressive.

i use the tongs so much. i feed my mudminnows, smaller less agressive sunfish, and crawfish with them. these are the ones i got: http://www.petdiscou...ongs-p4722.html

I have that exact same pair, i bought them when i was trying my occasional poor attempt at keeping live plants, to trim off,(with the cutter part,) and remove the dead or dying leaves, (with the tong part,) one at at time until all were gone, then the (tong part) again to jerk the dead stump out and toss it away  . Now i have mostly all of the kind of plants that comes in a plastic bag and requires no light and no fertilizer, if you know what i mean.
