If you have fish outdoors they will come. Today saw my first mink at the trout pond.

In the few years I've been growing fish outdoors I've had Great Blue Herons, green Herons, kingfishers, muskrats, beavers, and terrestrial crayfish digging holes all over the place including my dikes. No commorants yet or otters, but I'm sure they are coming. My state is happily reintroducing otters so it's just a matter of time.

Not blaming anything on the wild animals as they were here long before I was, and are just doing what comes natural, which is seeking out food and surviving. But it sure is a challenge at times to keep a good density of fish from being eaten or your ponds wrecked!

My state...

What state is that? I suggest you add your location information to your profile.

Man, I wish they would reintroduce river otters to the rest of my state. Gators should get their original range back, too. Right now, I have to go south and east for that kind of fun.

I worked on a trout farm in Wisconsin and let me tell you otters can cause a mess.
