Just for fun, I've started this thread so that NANFA members can post pictures of themselves wearing NANFA t-shirts while collecting fish. The one below is Stan Sung (left) and myself (right) posing before entering Hillabee Creek in Tallapoosa County, AL, two weeks ago. I'm wearing the shirt that you can buy through the button in the upper right of Forum pages. I know that Casper has some good shots... bring them on.

This was part of the 2009 Farmertodd Aquatic Institute for High School Seniors (I need to come up with something better that makes an, ahem, viable acronym, but I'm exhausted :)

P.S. Wait until you see what I found on my porch when I got home lol.

LOL Michael, you're awesome! I didn't specifically stick with your suggestions, but you did get me going the RIGHT direction with the right acronym!

We had a lot of fun at the South Chickamauga Creek trip hosted by Casper Cox in Chattanooga, TN, today. I have several pictures of NANFA shirts in action. Here's a first one: Michael Wolfe looking cool streamside.

They look nice in the field, I might buy one soon to show off while collecting.

Here's another one from South Chickamauga Creek yesterday. Left to right, Alejandro, Ranger Bob and Coby Cox. Bob's face is covered by a bag of fish, but he wisely is wearing an Arkansas convention t-shirt. I'm not sure what fish were in the bag...

Well I got pretty close didn't I... I guess you went with the best one for senior high students... if you ever do a junior high day you should really go with FART Day... they love that kind of humor...

Moderator indeed... :-P take that Irate!

So here is my brand new NANFA convention t-shirt...
...and I am "collecting" Florida Flag Fish (from Casper's broken tank to my backyard "ponds" and breeding...)
...well not really collecting as they were way faster than me, but I saw a lot of little baby FFF.

Hey Hey Michael...
Your looking fit and agile with that net in hand.
You might have to get in amongst them to catch those American Flags though, sneaky little patriots they are. That must be about generation 5 or 6 since Geeoff Kimber dumped them in the cement pond way back when he evicted all his fish.
Dont let our Florida host Charlie hear you call them Florida Flag Fish. You will get a lecture. Be content with Jordanella floridae.
:)

Be sure and take some inside this winter, the cold will kill them for sure.

Thanks... I haven't heard a different common name... I will go with F. floridae...

I didn't really think I would catch any, just thought it would be a funny pic... fish on the shirt, while fishing for the same fish... But seriously, I only put three or four in the 100 gallon stock tank righ after I got em form your place (well, I had one female)... and now I certainly see a dozen or so tiny little guys in there... so we have at least one more generation.

I will bring 'em inside come October... and I have three that I kept inside already in a 30 breeder with a few swamp darters.

Here I am on an outing with my eldest's boy scout troop. They were tasked with finding "10 animals, or evidence of 10 animals". Since it was pouring rain, all they could find was some spider webs, termite holes, and poop. They did find four different kinds! I got out my seine and found them some actual animals. The first place I chose to get in the water was deeper than I liked, but I swiped the seine, leaning toward the bank and hoping not to slip the rest of the way into the water. Immediately I caught a big creek chub. They were all impressed as heck.

Also note my "Irate Mormon's nuclear brails". Now I just need some decent seines and I'm all set!

Thanks Ms. Chambers. I like to see moms getting dirty and the fish dont seem to mind when its raining.
:)
I like those snap releases on the brails. Are those wood dowels your using for the brails? We snapped some clean in two last year. I saw some bamboo brails the other day covered in electrical tape. That might be a good material choice.
Im glad your active with your son in the scouts. Here is a picture of my Eagle Scout Son, Cobalt sporting one of my favorite NANFA shirts.

Wow! Nice Eagle project. My kid will never make Eagle Scout. He doesn't actually like to go outside, but I make him and he usually enjoys himself once he's there. He takes after his Dad, he doesn't go outside much either.

My brail handles are the heavy-duty handles with the metal ferrules at one end. I screwed an eye bolt in that end. They were pricey, but I think they'll last a while.
