Hi guys! I live in manhattan

I currently have two green sunfish, "bipsy" and "bob"

Welcome to the Forum. It just struck me that you may well be the only Forum member living in Manhattan(?). Not that Manhattan has really pristine waters... but I hope your greens like city living!

Welcome to the Forum. It just struck me that you may well be the only Forum member living in Manhattan(?). Not that Manhattan has really pristine waters... but I hope your greens like city living!

I'm new to the Forum, and been an on again off again member of Nanfa. I have several tanks, including a couple native fish tanks. I'm a Long Islander (the other island, over here, to your east!)
Anyway, we have some cool fish out on LI, some of which are suitable for your fish tank. Let me know if you want to come out and collect and or observe them. I did have some green sunfish I got
from a pond where they were introduced (they are not native to this area). They were cool, but voracious, and ate every other fish except catfish.

Yeah, that sounds like green sunfish. You should have pumpkinseeds locally, which are colorful and not nearly as voracious (they have smaller mouths!).
