This summer my family took a trip out to Gulf Shores for a beach trip. Thanks to David Smith and Bill Ballard I was able to have my funnest collecting trip yet. We all met up and David led me and my dad to some tribs to the Fish River. Our first site was a nice small stream, it yeilded some beautiful shiners and some nice fat sleepers among many others. After a while we decided to go to another site Bill and David knew about. The second site also had some unique species, with tons of grass pickeral. At about dark we decided to call it the day and after some talking we left.
This was by far one of my best collecting trips yet and I thank these guys for taking us out.
Anyway, here is the list of species we caught.

Pteronotropis signippinis (flagfin shiners)
Pteronotropis hypselopterus (sailfin shiners)
Ellasoma zonatum (banded pygmy sunfish)
Ellasoma evergaldei (everglades pygmy sunfish)
Dormitator maculatus (fat sleeper)
Eleotris amblyopsis (Large-scaled spinycheek sleeper)
Esox americanus vermiculatus (Grass Pickerel)
Gambusia holbrooki (eastern mosquito fish)
Lepomis miniatus (redspotted sunfish)
Lepomis gulosus (warmouth)
Lepomis macrochirus (Bluegill)
Noturus gyrinus (Tadpole Madtom) not sure about this one
Gambusia holbrooki (eastern mosquito fish)
Ellasoma zonatum (banded pygmy sunfish)
Ellasoma evergaldei (everglades pygmy sunfish)
Notemigonus crysoleucas crysoleucas (Eastern Golden Shiner)
Aphredoderus sayanu (Pirate Perch)
