I drove 4 hours down to Ohio for some fun fishing on Friday and came back Sunday. My excuse was to deliver some of my extra tropical fish to the guys from Indiana. One guy from Ohio joined us for some seining in the Scioto watershed on Saturday. It rained on us and we headed home by 1 pm. The map shows our route [ black line ] and the 5 inches of rain we drove back through.

Any further collecting that day would have been more dangerous due to flooding than the early lightning.

I also got to do some hook and line fishing. Threw all the fish back. I had no fish to add to my tanks when I got home.
Caught:
a 2 foot Grass Carp
an 18 inch and a 24 inch Drum
a bunch of 8 inch Hybrid Striped Bass / White Bass and one 14 inch
10 Largemouth Bass, 10 to 16 inches
a bunch of Crappies, the largest was 12 inches
a Green Sunfish
8 Bluegill, the largest was 1 inch thick
and I failed to land the 3 foot+ Muskie that I hooked on my first cast of the trip.

Thanks for reading my little fishing story.

This week, I wanted to find some Finescale Dace or Pearl Dace during a trip to Petoskey, Michigan.

Here is the East Branch of the Au Sable River.

Like most of the northern lower peninsula, this is a trout stream and no bait nets are allowed.

Wow, no replies, thanks.

If you are still reading this

I have some more
Kryptolebias marmoratus (Poey, 1880) Mangrove rivulus
available for distribution.

From Belize, so these fish are legal.

Those are interesting fish. I bought one at an auction. Now, through virtually no effort on my part, I have several. :smile2:

Okay, I'll play along. How about across the street to the right of the light brown reeds. Or is there a cat's tail somewhere I don't see!Posted Image
