when i go my new fish in the mail a few weeks ago I also got a plankton pack to feed them.

A side effect of that is the water intake of my powerhead filter is now growing rotifers.

Are these little things harmful? Is their a way to control their growth? What kind of fish will eat them? (algea eaters dislike the taste and do not clean algea off the intake due to them).

Just out of curiosity, how do you know that you have rotofiers? I thought they were mircoscopic? I am asking becuase I actually would like the benefit of have rotifers in my tanks.

i just assume so due to their shape looking like the rotifers in the "culturing live fish foods" book i have, and the fact the plankton pack i added had rotifers in it.

These are very very tiny but not microscopic. At first they look like a white fuzz on the intake tube, but a closer examination shows they have a stalk and a fan shaped top, they are too tiny for me to make out any more detail than that.
