That Northern Longear is spectaular. Is that a pretty common look for those fish? Mine look nothing as brilliant.

That is a picture of an adult male in breeding color. He was just taken out of of the pond to be photographed, and does exhibit amazing colors. Outside of breeding season they are still colorful with the orange and blue, but are most colorful during the breeding season.
