Wow--those were some of the nicest bluefins I have ever seen. Certainly nicer than the bluefins I have!


They will reach that peak coloration in just about a week if you give them a heater with an adjustable thermostat and raise their temperature a degree or two a day. Their native summer may reach 90 degree water temperatures for an extended period, so you just need to give them a good simulated breeding season.

Thanks! I've had mine out in a 2 gallon on the picnic table out back. I haven't checked on them in awhile though. I'll have to take a look and see if they've colored up. The basement where I keep them is always cool, so I guess they won't show peak colors. Likewise, since I'm down in FLA in the Springtime, it's probably a little too cool for them.

hey Bob, I finally edited a video I had made of the guys last week.
Not the best video but you can see two of the males.
I have 5 total in the tank, 3 males and 2 females.
I'll try to get better video/pictures later on...
