Darters and Crayfish or darters and shrimp?

I have a 75 gallon aquarium. Plan to stock with 4 darters. I need some scavengers. Debating between shrimp or crayfish. My concern with the crayfish is that they will eat my darters or other sleeping fish. Is this a legit concern? Should I go with the shrimp?

that is a very legit concern. they will def eat them...get some ghost shrimp..and them in turn will be (maybe) food for teh darters as well. only 4 darters? you can fit a lot more in that tank!!

Well I want to see how feeding them goes. May get more if they aren't too hard to care for. The other fish can survive on flake foods and are easier to maintain. Never had fish that needed live foods other than feeder fish which is pretty simple.

A couple of the commercial vendors on the forum sell dwarf crayfish that aren't supposed to be a threat to small fish. Those might be an option. I have a few ghost shrimp(Actually red claws I think) with my darters and they seem to do well together.

I have Cambarellus Shufeldtii (dwarf cajun crayfish) with my darters and have had no problems. I haven't seen any baby crays. I haven't noticed any berried female crays either though. I would imagine the darters would eat newborn dwarf crays.
