nice small bowfin

Caught this nice little Bowfin today, on a rubber worm with a squiggly tail, great fighter, if i had a huge tank i might consider keeping one, but this guy was released back into the muddy waters he came out of, in a creek, under a bridge, where brush had gathered. First one ive ever caught in 30 years of fishing, and well worth the experience.

My lake at my cabin has quite a few bowfins. Some real large ones too, I target them around dusk, they hit often on suckers and a lighted bobber. SUCH fighters. It would be neat to catch a small one and keep him in a giant tank.
