Are the shrimp feeders or tankmates? Here is a pic of my planted tank, it has the madtom, two mudminnows, and soon, the spotfin shiners. Ghost shrimp are in there as well.

Can't make my mind up!

Yes, madtoms will eat them... actually, even a larger darter will attack and eat a ghost shrimp.
I can verify that from firsthand experience. ;P Ghost shrimp will eventually be food. I have yet to see a fish in a tank that doesn't harass them. Even smaller fish will pick off antennae, etc, and pull apart the corpses for food. They must be really tasty.

Maybe the real small ones, but every time I've cleaned a tank out, I've found more ghost shrimp than I expected. I really don't think that the madtom bothers them too much. Put some in, see what happens, you will definitely have some left over if you buy a dozen.ok, let us try again. Are the shrimp feeders OR tank mates?

I wasn't trying to be a jerk (it's just natural)... but the answer is you really can never tell in the short term... but in the long term probably they will be food... I like feeder shrimp and have put them in lots of tanks... the only place they have been able to survive long term is 1) alone 2) with pygmy sunfish (Elassoma) 3) with feeder guppies
Shiners just chase 'em down and destroy them immediately (shiners love to eat)
Darters chase 'em corner 'em and either eat them or harass/pick them to death
Madtoms will get em at night... huntingin the dark, its what they do.
