Caught my first Blenny the other day. Here's a picture:

Any advice on care and feeding? He didn't really go after any of the flakes or pellets I have (he nibbled at the pellets, but didn't seem very excited), but he sure gobbled up some shrimp I shredded for him.

Mixing flake/freeze dried with frozen mysis and slowly weening back the frozen has been my preferred method of getting fish to eat flake or freeze dried. Most blennies are pretty easy feeders as well, so that should be in your favor.

I have never kept blennies but know they vary in diet. It would be good to know what species you have and what it eats.
Shredded shrimp is a safe bet for most saltwater fish not vegetarian.
Some fish never eat flake or pellet. My butterflyfish gets mussels, shrimp and clams I collect myself when I can or store bought the rest of the year. He'll eat frozen brine and blood worms but prefers to pick all day at a big fat mussel.
I doubt a blennie will be that tough but my point is, some fish need the meaty diet - don't be in a hurry to feed prepared food.

feed the blenny shrimp, flakes, and other clam peices for the best diet. Your blenny is a striped blenny (chasmodes bosquianus). Its not a feather blenny as it has no cirri. May I ask how you caught him? i have been trying to get one for a while, i have somebody whos gonna get me some.

I caught it in my trusty Wal-Mart minnow trap, which sits by my boat 24/7 with no bait. Some of my coolest fish have just wandered in.
