The question was regarding a male redline some mistakenly thought might be a Wounded darter. The female redlines are nicely marked though not as colorful as the males. I've got a couple that get thin dark bars along their sides but they come and go. Oh and my longnose gar is so cool I gave him two dozen feeder guppies Monday there's one left tonight. He feeds so differently then my redfin pickerel who as you will recall immediately rushes and attacks feeder fish with rapid lunges until his prey is captured. The gar barely moves his fins and in a kind of controlled drift in all kinds of angles and orientations eventually gets close enough to make a quick slash attack. I suppose this could change as he gets bigger or gets used to me feeding him.
