This may or may not be a problem. I bought my 75 gallon off Ebay a couple months ago. Filled it up a couple days ago. Last night I noticed a chip on the corner of the tank.

Will this threaten the integrity of the tank?


Sorry for the horrible pics. Best I could do with a camera phone and angle I had to take the picture at.

It is about the height of a dime and at it's deepest point probably 2-3mms. In the 2nd pic that is a hair and not a crack.

I had a 70 gal for 20+ years with a conchoidal chip like that; never had a problem.
It's on the outside right?

I had a 125 gallon with a big nick on the outside like that and no problems for the 5 years I had it set up as an aquarium (now a buddy has turtles in it).

I was just "sure" I'd have 100 gallons of water on my carpet when I went to work though ;) .

I'd be more worried about what you have in your hand there ;) . I'm trying to get my best buddy to quit, so I had to mention it...no offense meant.
