Which Darter

This darter was caught in a river in Mid-Michigan. It is about 1 1/4 inch. The cheeks are blue and the bottom markings have a blueish tint. Thanks for any help!

Rainbow darter, with the reverse-facing trident pattern on the base of the tail.

is this a female rainbow?i know its a rainbow but im trying to see if i can identify whether its a female.

The one in the pictures is an immature male. The females wouldn't have the blues around the body, or the blue and red in the first dorsal; basically, a female looks like this guy but without the brighter colors.
