What fish is this

This fish was caught in Michigan in a bog close to Saddle Lake. Between Kalamazoo & South Haven.

There are lots of them, most just have a white edge around ear. This one looks like it might have a bit of color on it.

Appears to be a hybrid involving bluegill. The other parent either northern longear or pumkinseed. If dark base coloration typical, than latter species most likely other parent. Pumped up for breeding male pumpkinseeds and their hybrids can get quite dark. Coloration on operculum typical of bluegill hybrids. Pictures of more would be helpful.

That looks to be the most likely hybrid.. Still needs more pictures

If I recall we found some Bluegill x Pumpkinseed suspects around there when sampling. Better and more pics would clarify but that sure appears to be one of them. They are not uncommon in Saddle and the surrounding areas.

I would say it's a longear hybrid. Don't have any idea what the other parent is. That opercular flap is really longear like. Maybe longear and pumpkinseed. I wouldn't swear to it though.
