Hello, I go dipnetting with and around the areas that Trojannemo goes dipnetting. I need two IDs. Thanks.

I always thought this guy was an eastern sand darter, but now I am not too sure as they look similar to the swamp darters I caught today.

I always wanted these gambusia and I finally caught them. I never knew what species they were though. trojannemo calls them marbled Gambusia.

The darter in the first picture is indeed a swamp darter. And the Gambusia in the second picture are melanistic morphs rather than a separate species. They're certainly more striking than typical Gambusia.

i'm glad you were able to catch the gambusia you were after yesterday. how are they doing? they are still Gambusia affinis, just a different color morph :-)
