All,

Well, I think that fall is full upon us! I did hear the weatherman say that snow may be in the forecast. Snow! Well, it is Wisconsin. I guess I shouldn't expect any less. Anyways, I'd like to announce that our next Southeastern Wisconsin Native Fish Club (SEWNFC) meeting is scheduled for Saturday, October 17th at the apartment of Pat Bowne in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Her address is:

2911 S. Superior St., Apt. 1
Milwaukee, WI 53207

Her phone is: (414) 483-1859

The meeting starts at 6:00pm. Our first speaker will be Doug Welsh of the WDNR, who will talk about How the DNR Conducts Fish Surveys. Brian Torreano will also talk about Spawning Native Killifish In the Home Aquarium. These should be interesting talks! We will have food and refreshements at the meeting. We will also be having a native fish auction at the end of the meeting. As always, the meeting is free and open to the public. It is a great opportunity to learn about our native fishes and to meet with people who share an interest in native fishes, like you! I hope you can make it! If you have any questions, please email or call me. My number is below. Thanks!

Brian

Well, the meeting went great! We had 6 people there, lots of food, and our speaker from the DNR gave an interesting talk! I think that everyone enjoyed my talk, too. Nobody fell asleep! I'm going to be posting the PDF of my slides, but I'll probably do it next weekend. The talk I gave tonight is going to be part of the talk I'm giving next Saturday in Madison, so I don't want to spoil it for anyone that couldn't make to yesterday's meeting. Hope to see you in Madison!
