Hi, I'm new here. Thought I'd start off with some pics of my Bluegill tank. Just upgraded them to a 65g. Pics are awful because my camera is broken and I'm stuck using autofocus.

Very nice - thanks for sharing the pics!
Is that a screen top? Might be an issue, re: rust!
How about some live plants, maybe some anacaris (I think that is the name).
How does the pleco do without heat. I wish there were some reliable native
algae eaters.

Super cool!

Thanks.
The lid is egg crate for fluorescent lighting, spray painted black.
Not sure how well the Pleco will do in the long run. The room stays really warm but we'll see how that goes over the winter. He's only in there because the only other tank I have thats big enough for him contains my Bichirs and they don't do well together. I may have to add a heater to try and maintain seventy degrees or so.

Plecos tend to shut down at fifty degrees Farenhiet. My friend keeps them in his Tiger Musky (1) and Northern Pikes (5, the biggest one he got from me  when I dismantled my stock tank pond after it began to leak  ) pond during the warmer months. As a test, he left a large albino one out during the fall and it basically moved so sluggishly you could pick it up with your hands. He quickly moved it into his Mesoamerican cichlid communtiy tank and it lived.

Ahhh. That is a really good idea. Tank lids can be expensive.
I see your from Florida, so heating isn't going to be an issue unless your really blasting the AC.
Bichirs are really cool. One of these years when I have room I'd like to try them.
Enjoy your sunfish!
