I took this picture at the Downtown Aquarium in Denver a couple of years ago in what I'm pretty sure was an Atlantic coast/ocean display. Anyone know what this guy is?

looks like a rockfish of some sort, hard to telll without sideview, but it may be a brown rockfish or a ghopher rockfish

I was going say rockfish also, I couldn't find what species, but I found this picture and think it may be a match. It was absolutely the fish I thought of when I saw your picture.

Thank you! I think rockfish is right. I'm can't tell on species either from the pictures I have and what I've dug up from your suggestions, but getting it that far is enough for my purposes.
