I want to grow Water Wisteria, but the last time I bought it seemed to die and rotted. How do you manage it? I heard it should grow like a weed.

I have grown Water Wisteria, Hygrophila defformis, many times. Do you have much light? I have found it is not too picky about water parameters if it has a lot of light--2 watts/Gallon of PC light or more. In lower light, I have found the plant tends to shed its lower leaves and get really messy. In very high light, like >5 watts per gallon of PC light, I have found that the plant refuses to grow up; it only carpets the ground.

Mine rotted out at the bottom, so that could be it...
